Press

Plantalya, the verifiable version.

No press releases, no download milestones, no invented quotes. What follows is what the site actually contains, counted from the published content each time the site is built, plus the identity of the person and the company behind it.

Who is behind Plantalya

Plantalya is written and maintained by Allan Pissarello, its founder. There is no newsroom and no panel of reviewers: one person researches each species, writes the guide from named references, and signs it. That is a limitation worth stating plainly rather than dressing up, and it is why every page lists its sources and its last revision date.

What the site covers

One care guide per species: light, watering, soil, feeding, repotting, propagation, toxicity to pets, and the problems that species actually gets. Guides are grouped into an encyclopedia, a set of care topics, a pests and diseases section, plants by region, and free interactive tools (watering calculator, pet-safe plant finder, hardiness checker and others). A companion iOS and Android app is presented on the app page.

How the guides are written

Each guide is built from named botanical and horticultural references and lists them at the bottom of the page. The sourcing and correction process is documented in full in our editorial policy.

Plantalya is a one-person project, so we cannot promise a response time, but we answer journalists before anything else, and we would rather give you a sourced "we don't know" than an impressive number we cannot back up.
